After a day of fun in the sun, you’ll probably want a break. This is the perfect opportunity for you to explore Kansas City’s wide array of shopping opportunities.

For those that enjoy Arts and antiques shopping, the Crossroads Arts District, Brookside and Crestwood are the place to be. For those looking for more modern and upscale shops, the J.C. Nichols Country Club Plaza and the Crown Center are right up your alley. The Plaza is one of the most popular places in town. Its unique setting as a outdoor shopping mall built into the city brings a bit of and old-time feel especially with the horse drawn carriages that travel throughout the streets.

If you want something less commercial and want to get out of the city, try visiting Parksville and Weston where you’ll find unique boutiques with themes ranging from mid-1800s to European antiques.

Another up-and-coming area is near the Kansas Speedway. Here outdoorsmen can browse the day away at Cabela’s. Across the streets, couples and families can get just about anything they’d need for their house at Nebraska Furniture Mart, a two-story heaven for anyone who likes furniture, electronics, home decorating, media and just about anything else you’d put in your home.

Because there isn’t much of a plan for today, play your meals by ear. The plaza offers places such as California Pizza Kitchen and Cheesecake factory and some of the other places will offer more mom and pop places. Try and old favorite or be adventurous depending on your mood.
