Kansas City is a great place for families. Worlds of Fun and Oceans of fun are two great attractions for those with children of any age. A full day can easily be spent at either park, or you can get discounted tickets to both parks in one day. This year Worlds of Fun is debuting a new, record-setting inverted rollercoaster, The Patriot. The Patriot is the parks most expensive venture yet, costing them $12 million. It’s set to take over the top attraction title from the 12-story Boomerang.

Those with younger children might want to check out Kaleidoscope – a creativity wonderland for children who like to color, paint or explore other creative expressions – or Science City – located in Union Station. The Puppetry Arts Institute is also a great place with young children.

Those with teenagers might want to try out Jaegers Subsurface Paintball. With underground and above ground playing fields, this is a fun activity for older kids and their parents that combines a popular game with the unique opportunity to explore Kansas City’s limestone caves. The Kansas Speedway is also a great place to take teenagers.
