Increasing its foundry business marketing activities in North America, Samsung Electronics, a leader in semiconductor technology, announced the appointment of Ana M. Hunter as the new vice president of technology for its American subsidiary.

Market analysts expect the overall foundry business to score around $39 billion by the year 2009. Samsung has cobbled together a strong team in the U.S. by using a "fab-lite" business model.

Employing approximately 128,000 people in over 90 offices in 51 countries, the company consists of five main business units: Digital Appliance Business, Digital Media Business, LCD Business, Semiconductor Business and Telecommunication Network Business. Business jargon aside, all I can say is that this better mean they're developing a TV I can bring into the bathtub.
