If you are looking for some ultimate outlet centers and brand name shopping Maine is the place.
· Kittery, Maine: If you love shopping for bargains, then Kittery is your destination. There are two outlet centers here, located minutes from one another, the Kittery Outlets & Trading Post and The Maine Outlet. The first has 120 outlets including the Kittery Trading Post, a giant store full of outdoor equipment, clothing, and footwear.
· L.L. Bean: L.L. Bean is the quintessential clothing manufacturer for the New England way of life. Originally a mail-order line of outdoor gear and clothing, L.L. Bean moved into to its current flagship store location in Freeport back in 1917. It has expanded quite a bit over the years and now includes a separate hunting and fishing store as well as a factory store all within walking distance. The famous flagship store is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
· Freeport, Maine: Being the home of L.L. Bean has also brought many other retailers and shops to the area surrounding the L.L. Bean complex. This entire shopping center includes upscale outlets, designer shops, boutiques, along with restaurants and cafes to ease the hunger pains while shopping ‘til you drop!
· Village Candle Factory Store: The Village Candle Factory Store is located in Topsham just off I-295. It has over 6500 square feet of candles, accessories, and the factory itself where you can watch Village candles being made.
· Lighthouse Depot: If you are a lighthouse collector chances are you have heard of the Lighthouse Depot. They offer a wonderful full color catalog that many lighthouse lovers are familiar with. It is “the world’s largest lighthouse gift store” and has been featured in magazines and other publications. The store is located in Wells on U.S. Rt. 1, next to the Museum of Lighthouse History.
