One of Maine’s treasures is its collection of covered bridges. Most of the bridges are all centrally located in the Lakes and Mountains region. Because of this, it is possible to plan a trip dedicated to the covered bridges alone. One bridge you will want to see is the Sunday River Bridge. Referred to as “The Artist’s Bridge,” it is the most painted and photographed covered bridge in Maine. It is located off Rt. 2 and 26 in the town of Newry.
