Vacation charter packages, which include air travel and hotel, are typically your best bet for your best price on a Vegas vacation. Whether going with a charter package or booking a flight on a commercial airline, keep in mind that much of the cost depends on your point of origin, and driving to a larger airport an hour or two away could save you a lot on the price of a package or airline ticket.

Arriving before check-in time at your Vegas hotel should be the least of your worries. If you arrive early and your hotel doesn't allow early check-in, grab what provisions you may need for the next couple of hours, drop your bags off with the bellman and be on your way. With so much to do in Las Vegas, don't waste your time in the lobby. Even if it is the most beautiful lobby you've ever seen.

Las Vegas Boulevard, The Strip, shines most brilliantly at night. Magnificent hotels glow green and gold with pink, red, yellow, blue and white neon pulsates all around. Electric lights flash, music plays, volcanoes erupt, and fountains soar. Cars create two moving streams of red and white lights. People in the thousands walk up and down and over the Strip. Roller coasters corkscrew high above the ground, while a laser beam, visible from space, penetrates the night sky, inviting the whole universe to come and play.

And that's only on the outside. All of Las Vegas invites you to step into any of the iconic casino resorts along the Strip, and enter a world of pure imagination.

Vegas past and Vegas future live side-by-side downtown, where the Fremont Street Experience, a spectacular $70-million canopy of light and sound, envelops the historic hotels and casinos along four blocks of Fremont Street. Like most things in Las Vegas, downtown shines best at night, when the Fremont Street Experience lights up and street performers entertain the crowds.

Downtown is where the fun all began in Las Vegas a century ago at the Golden Gate, Las Vegas' first hotel, built in 1906. With a long and storied history, downtown still rivals the Strip as a favorite Vegas destination.
