Las Vegas offers over 100,000 hotel and motel rooms so there is sure to be one that suits your needs. Whether you choose to stay in a hotel on the strip, the “old downtown” area, or off the strip you’ll no doubt get the full Vegas experience. Hotel rooms are less expensive on weekdays in Vegas. Some can almost double their room rates Friday thru Sunday.
· The Strip: Las Vegas Blvd. better known as the Vegas Strip boasts some of the world’s most exclusive casino’s and resorts. With landmarks such as the Luxor’s pyramid, the MGM Lion, the Eiffel tower at Paris Paris, the New York skyline at New York New York, and the Stratosphere tower complete with a roller coaster on top. The newest addition on the Vegas Strip the Wynn Resort and Casino even offers an 18 hole championship golf course. Many of the strips resorts and casinos have 5 star restaurants, premium shops and boutiques, top notch spas, sprawling pool complexes, all star shows, as well a bevy of all night clubs to fill up your spare time while you’re not trying your hand at one of the many gaming tables. Many of the strips hotels have on site wedding chapels complete with wedding coordinators and wedding packages. The average nightly price for a room on the strip is $250 with some suites exceeding $1500 a night. The resorts on the strip also offer packages and specials. Several also offer child care as well as children’s activities.
· Old Downtown: The old downtown and Freemont Street area feature some of the original hot spots in Vegas such as the Golden Nugget and the Golden Gate hotel and casinos. There is also the Freemont St. Experience which is a 1400 sq. ft. light show canopy. The Freemont St. Experience is definitely a must see while in Las Vegas. While many of the hotels in this area don’t have as many amenities to offer as those on the strip it is still a wonderful place to stay and experience all that Vegas has to offer. Rooms are also less expensive with an average nightly rate of $150.
· Off the Strip: A few popular destinations located off the Vegas strip but nearby are the Palms Resort and Casino and Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Both of these exclusive hotels offer every amenity of those on the strip and have average nightly rates of $250. If you prefer to stay further away from the main action of Vegas you’re in luck. There are several resorts waiting to spoil you all with in an hours drive. Resorts such as the JW Marriot Resort, Hyatt Regency at Lake Las Vegas, and the Oasis Resort have golf courses on their grounds. The Oasis and Hyatt Regency also offer great family activities on site as well such as: arcades, horseback riding, playgrounds, paddle boats, tennis courts, and basketball courts to name a few. These resorts also offer fine dining, spas, as well as shops. Rooms at these resorts typically start at $279 a night.
