Viva Las Scandal!

In recent Las Vegas news: A judge on the state Ethics Commission shocked the Universe at large by overturning a ruling that condemned Mayor Oscar Goodman as using his position to unfairly benefit his son.

Likewise, most Las Vegas denizens are appalled by the idea that their Mayor would actually not commit nepotism in addition to the other crimes associated with ruling that vast slough of hedonism.

Goodman said the ruling, issued Friday by Clark County District Judge Mark Denton finally cleared a "black mark" on his office; the only charge that stuck during a 7-year tenure.

The state Ethics Commission ruled in 2004 that Goodman violated the law when he hosted a cocktail party sponsored and paid for by son Ross Goodman's company, iPolitix, during a U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting in the nation's capitol.

"I'm just glad they didn't find out about the cocaine and hookers," one anonymous source noted.

With the scandal behind him, Goodman plans to move on to more important issues with his tenure. "The people elected me to legalize soft-core theater and prostitution, not give handouts to my kid," a jubilant Goodman beamed.

There's no word of yet whether the incident has affected Goodman's decision to run for U.S. Senate, where constituents have a much higher propensity for pardoning scandals in a similar manner.
