There are a variety of options in cookware, and many types of pots and pans to meet any cooking needs in a family. There are pans with short handles, long handles, small and large sizes, deep and shallow. The consumer has to decide budget constraints and needs before investing much money in cookware.

· Saucepans: This ever-versatile pot usually has one long handle. In the case of larger and deeper pot, two handles set close the pan make for easy lifting and pouring.
· Casseroles: Large pots that are constructed with sloping sides are perfect to hold casseroles. This is a cookware necessity in most homes.
· Frying Pans/Skillet: These pans are shallow with one single long handle. If the pan is constructed with specially rolled sides, they are generally called omelet pans.
· Griddle: This useful pan is wonderful for making pancakes. It is a flat piece of metal with one long handle.
