In order to manufacture semiconductors you first have to know what a semiconductor is, if you don’t know already. A semiconductor is material that is neither a good conductor nor a good insulator. The most common semiconductor materials you will find most often will be silicon and germanium. These materials are added together to increase the materials conductivity so as to be able to pass electrons. Products that are made of semiconductor materials will include CPU and memory chips.

Thanks to semiconductors, miniaturization is possible. You can miniaturize electronic components such as transistors so they all can fit on a board the size of a pin head. Because of this invention of miniaturization, components take up less space; require less energy to work, and work faster.
