Magnetism and Its Use In Circuits

Magnetism got its start when magnetite, an iron ore, exerted forces on each other and on iron pieces. This is like magnetic poles on opposite ends. The Earth is one good example of magnetism and how it works. You have two poles: north and south. There is strong magnetic field that comes out of the North Pole and continues to enter the South Pole.

Magnetism is used in circuits that require an influx of induced electron flow. You will find magnets in transformer, especially power transformers. You can also find magnets with coils wrapped around the magnet in two places. Magnetism is also used to store energy in a circuit when required for purposes of controlling a device.
