Should I rely on pre-employment tests alone to determine the right person to hire?

Pre-employment tests are just one piece in a very big puzzle of hiring the right person. No, don’t rely on them alone. Think of pre-employment tests, or assessments, as a tool you can and often should use in order to get a job done. Use the information you glean from these assessments, along with interviews, trial work days, gut instinct, reference checks, employment history—everything and anything else you would normally use to hire an employee. Don’t let these assessments replace your expertise, or your gut feeling, about a candidate. Just use them to assist you in gathering the information you need to make a better-educated decision.
