There is much debate over steam cleaning versus pressure washing. Manufactures insist that by using steam you are able to cut grease and oil completely. This is especially useful on a surface that you are going to paint or refurbish. Pressure cleaners tend to leave an oily film on surfaces. The following are some of the advantages of using a steam cleaner:

• Reduces allergies
• Kills dust mites, viruses, molds, and fungous
• Reduces respiratory problems
• Maintaining good hygiene

The following are just a few of the ways in which you can use your steam cleaner:

• Clean carpets
o All of your carpets should be cleaned every 12 to 18 months.
o Main traffic areas may need to be cleaned every 2 to 3 months.
o Entrances are where dirt is most often tracked in and they may need to be cleaned monthly.
• Clean upholstery
• Clean clothing
• Clean your vehicle upholstery and carpets
• Remove soap scum and mildew from tile and grout
• Clean mirrors, windows, and glass
• Remove soap and scum from sinks and faucets
• Freshen baby toys
• Clean infant car seats, playpens, highchairs
• Freshen pillows which reduces allergies and respiratory problems
• Clean outdoor furniture
• Clean barbecue grills
• Air Conditioning vents
• Clean ovens
• Preparing surfaces for painting or refinishing


Vapor steam cleaners can cause damage to some heat sensitive fabrics and surfaces and should NOT be used on the following:

• Silk
• Velour
• Exterior paint on vehicles
• Vinyl floors (can remove the shine)
