What should I consider before buying a Golf Cart?

Before buying a Golf Cart, it is important to assess what type of cart you will need and how you will be using it. This will help you to pick the right one and will save you many headaches down the road. Before buying a cart, as your self the following:

•	What is my expected driving terrain? A different Golf Cart would be required if you were playing golf on grassy hills then if you were driving people around a warehouse.
•	How much weight will it need to carry? Decide how many passengers you would like it to carry and how much cargo will be involved. Some carts can even haul up to 5,000 pounds and can come with different types of beds for hauling purposes.
•	How big do I want it to be? Most Golf Carts are around six feet tall, four feet wide, and eight feet long. However, if you have specific spaces you need it to get through, keep those measurements in mind when you are purchasing on. Golf Carts can be customizable to what you need, so have knowledge of where it will be going when you start shopping for one. Also, test your garages, bridges, or other driving surfaces and make sure that they are strong enough to hold the cart.
•	What accessories do I want? Golf Carts can come with a variety of accessories, including lights, different types of tires, tops, sides, and windshields, and more. Base what accessories you want off of what you will be using the cart for.

What is the difference between a gas and electric Golf Cart?

Golf Carts come in two forms: gas or electric. Although electric Golf Carts have come out on top in recent years due to their lack of pollution and noise, there are advantages to both types of cart.

The electric Golf Cart uses a bank of batteries to run an electric motor. They can be used all day and then recharged at night. When you are finished with it at the end of the day, you simply plug them into a standard power outlet to charge for the next use. The most common power choices are 36 volt or 48 volt.

Advances in technology have helped prolong the life of an electric Golf Cart. For example, regenerative braking has become a popular feature. Regenerative breaking causes the cart to recharge every time the cart slows down or goes downhill. This helps the battery last longer.

There are several advantages to an electric model. First of all, the level of noise and pollution is much lowers then a gasoline model. This is not only convenient, but allows you to use these vehicles inside if you choose to. Also, electric carts cost five to ten times less to operate then a gas model.

Although electric Golf Carts seem to have the edge over electric, there are many advantages. First of all, with gasoline vehicles you can always carry an extra can of gas with you in case you run out. This gives you a much greater range because you don't have to worry about plugging it into a wall. They are also great for towing because gasoline engines provide more power for carrying heavy loads.

How do I choose a good Golf Cart dealer?

Which company you buy from can often be as important as which cart you pick. Dealers can help you maintain your vehicle as well as give you a fair price so it is important to find a good one.
Some important questions to ask when evaluating Golf Cart dealers include the following:

•	How long have you been in business?
•	What kind of parts inventory do you keep on site?
•	How many technicians do you have?
•	Do you do on-site service?
•	Do you have guaranteed response times in case part of my equipment breaks down?

While at the dealership, see if you can see the parts warehouse for yourself. That will give you a good sense of their capabilities. Also, once you know what brand of cart you want, find a dealership that carries full lines of the brands.

Always work with factory-authorized Golf Cart dealers. This means that they have access to OEM and factory training for technicians. This ensures the quality of the repairs. Above all, trust your own instincts.
Most sales staffs will try to sell you the best possible Golf Cart, but be aware if all they try to do is try to sell you the most expensive one. Be sure and find a salesman that you can trust. Also, word of mouth is always a great thing when it comes to finding a dealer.

How do I maintain my Golf Cart?

There are several things that you can do in order to maintain your Golf Cart once you have bought it.

First, check the water levels in each cell of each battery weekly on your electric Golf Cart. You want to make sure that the leaded plates in the battery are submerged completely in the liquid. If you need to refill it, only use distilled water, and don't fill the cell all the way up. Only add enough water to cover the plates, and be sure and wear safety glasses and rubber gloves.

Also, check the connectors to make sure they are tight. Be sure to also look it over well for signs of corrosion. If the connections are loose or if you see corrosion, contact you're nearest Golf Cart dealer.

Finally, be sure that you take the cart in for regular inspections. The faster that you catch a problem, the easier the fix can be. Usually, you can take your cart to the dealership that you bought it from. They should be able to walk you through any repairs that are needed.

What is a Golf Simulator?

Golf Simulators are a relatively new trend that is quickly growing among golfers. A Golf Simulator gives you the feeling of playing a golf course, without having to leave your home. A golf simulator usually is composed of a screen and a mat that holds the golf ball. Whenever you swing and hit the golf ball against the mat, it sends signals to an attached program which shows you where your golf ball would go on an actually course. Cameras track the distance, loft, and accuracy and then prepare you for the next shot. On most simulators, you can either play 18 holes, or just hit balls on an electronic driving range.

How does a Golf Simulator work?

Each Golf Simulator includes a swing pad and a large screen. The swing pad is powered by a USB Processor that controls a set of infrared sensors that transmit a beam up from the pad. When you make a swing and the golf pad passes over the sensors, it triggers the sensors. Whenever this happens, the data is captured and the input is sent to a calculation engine. This engine records the information and converts it into a statistical summery that allows the screen to show what the golf ball would do if hit like that.

Much like in real golf, you can find yourself in the rough, fairway, or sand. Some programs even allow you to practice your putting.

Many programs will allow you to use different clubs, play different golf holes, or even hook the simulator up to your favorite golf video game. Golf simulators also allow you to play your friends and an electronic scoreboard will keep track of your shots.

What are Golf Simulators used for?

Golf Simulators can be used for both personal and public use. On a personal level, a Golf Simulator is great for a relaxing round of golf indoors without having to worry about lugging around golf clubs or take on the heat. On rainy days, they are a great way to keep practicing and get a realistic golf course feel. Golf simulators give you the opportunity to hit a few balls between meetings or on study breaks.

On a public level, Golf Simulators are tools that are often used in golf shops to help sell golf clubs. Now, instead of just hitting a golf ball into a plain ordinary mat, consumers can see how their shots would look on an actual golf course. This allows customers to see the results of different clubs without having to leave the store. Gone are the days when you pick out a club and hit it into an ordinary mat and guess where the ball would go. Now, you can hit the ball and see a simulation of how it would look on an actual golf course.

Golf Simulators are also popularly used for golf instruction. Many simulators will allow you to record and playback your golf shot. This is a great tool for indoor golf training. With a Golf Simulator, rain can no longer cancel your golf lesson. Also, you can remove the outside distraction of wind so you can see how your golf swing is really affecting your golf flight.

What all can I do on a golf simulator?

Golf simulators allow you to do all kind of golfing activities. Different simulators offer different things, so be sure and find out what you want before buying one.

The main thing that a golf simulator does is allow you to play different computerized golf courses. Most programs will allow you to pick from all kinds of gorgeous facilities, including Augusta and Pebble Beach. You can either play alone or with some friends. Rounds usually take about an hour if you play by yourself, and longer depending on how many people are with you. With most programs, you don't have to keep track of your own score, because the computer keeps track of your strokes for you. Before you start playing, you can enter in player's names, handicaps, and whether they are right or left handed. Then once you are done with your round, it calculates the score and tells you the winner.

If you are not in the mood to play a full round, or if you are in the middle of a golf lesson, the driving range feature might be the best option for you. On this driving range, you can do anything that you would do on a normal driving range. Pick your club, and aim at different targets all over the range. This is a great thing for players who do not know how far they hit each club. Using this simulator can greatly help accuracy and distance.

Other programs even offer a par three shootout. This allows you to play 18 holes of par three's. This is a great way to practice hitting greens in regulation and a great way to start golf for new golfers.

Most simulators are video and DVD compatible. So, whenever you are not hitting golf balls, the screen doubles as a great home theater. It can also be hooked up to some golf video games so you can be the player in the video game.

Where can I purchase a golf simulator?

Golf simulators can be purchased on the Internet or at most major golf stores. Before purchasing one, it's very important to look around and figure out what all you want. Try several different simulators out and determine which one you like best.

For example, if you are looking for a simulator for instructional purposes, it would be a good idea to find a simulator that can record your golf shot. If you are looking for a fun game to play with your friends, be sure and find one that allows you to play with a large group of people. There are several distributors of this product, just be sure and test several out and find out which one you like best.

Whenever you make your purchase, keep your receipt. That way, you can take it home and try it out in a room of your house. Once home, you may find that you don't have enough space to swing or that you need a smaller screen. If this occurs simply take it back and try a different model.
