Most large department stores (Wal Mart, K Mart, etc.) have them in their sporting good section. Sports specialty stores like Dick's, REI, and others, also carry them. Usually any place you buy a gun you can also find ammunition and other accessories like targets. You can get both BB pistols and BB rifles.
They range in cost from $15 or so to upwards of $200. Only the highest power models with lots of bells and whistles will sell for those prices, though. If you are seeking a BB gun for recreational purposes only, you should be able to get a fairly powerful and accurate gun, some ammunition, a pack of targets, and even a nice scope for your gun for a grand total of $50-$75.
Shooting BB or pellet guns is an affordable and enjoyable hobby, provided it is practiced with care and precaution. Users should take note of the potential hazards and always use great care when operating these pleasurable but potentially dangerous devices.
