While it is important that you make your writing a priority, it is also important that you spend time doing activities that you enjoy. You know what they say about all work and no play. If all of your time is spent writing, it is easy to get burnt out and your writing will begin to suffer. It is also easy to get so caught up in your writing that you find yourself eating your meals at your desk while you work, and before you know it you have been there all day and have exhausted yourself. There are also health risks that need to be considered. Working all day can be a strain on your eyes as well as you run the risk of developing carpal tunnel syndrome.

Schedule a break around lunch time. Fix your lunch and eat it somewhere other than your working area. You might schedule to have your lunch around a television program you enjoy watching or take your lunch outside and get some fresh air while you eat. Once in awhile you should schedule a lunch date with a friend. This enables you to get out of the house for awhile and enjoy some adult companionship. Writing at home all day can become a lonely existence.
