Many other sports are available for fantasy play.
Golf: In most fantasy golf leagues, fantasy owners select golfers from the Professional Golf Association (PGA) tour. Generally owners can change their golfers for each tournament, but you can only use each golfer for a limited number of outings, so you must choose wisely. Scoring is based solely on a golfer’s performance. Some leagues will allow you to choose golfers from different tiers to balance performance. In golf, unlike most other sports, more than one fantasy owner can own the same golfer for the same tournament.
NASCAR: Fantasy auto racing is growing in popularity, along with the sport itself. Fantasy owners choose a set number of drivers for their team. The drivers are divided into tiers, much like the golfers in fantasy golf. Points are awarded each week based on your teams’ drivers’ performances. Teams are generally allowed to carry more drivers than they are allowed to use at any given time, so owners have choices to make as to who their active drivers will be.
Hockey: Fantasy hockey is similar to the other fantasy sports which we dedicated more time to above, but is not nearly as popular. These players are taken from the National Hockey League, which plays an 82 game schedule. Positions generally include some combination of centers, wings, defensemen, and goalies. Offensive statistics are goals, assists, power play points, penalty minutes, and game winning goals, while statistics for goalies are wins, shutouts, goals against average (GAA) and save percentage.
