Fitness equipment can be divided into two main types: aerobic and anaerobic.
·        Aerobic Equipment: Aerobic equipment is any exercise equipment which mainly benefits your cardiovascular system (with oxygen). This includes, but is not exclusive to, treadmills, cross trainers, rowing machines and stepping machines.
·        Anaerobic Equipment: This type of equipment generally refers to weight resistance equipment. There is strength training and muscular endurance built, but not as much cardiovascular benefit as with aerobic equipment. Anaerobic equipment include such as things as cable machines and weight barbells and dumbbells.
