Rebounders or mini-trampolines have been popular for many years for high-aerobic fitness. Rebounding is a fun way to increase physical fitness while providing a level of activity. It is suitable for most any age and fitness level. Rebounding uses gravity to gently stretch and work every cell in the body. This stretching and firmness occurs twice with each bounce, once when the body moves from up to down at the highest point, and then again when it moves down to up on the bounce.
Jumping on a trampoline is a great way to get exercise while having fun. Having a trampoline in your yard is a wonderful way to encourage your children to get away from the television set and get some exercise.
Some of the health benefits gained from exercising on a trampoline are:
• Strengthening of your limbs
• Improved coordination
• Improved muscle tone
• Improved balancing abilities
• Heart and lungs benefit from the improvement of your intake of oxygen.
• Enhances the digestion and bowels over a period of time through stimulation.
There are however, many injuries every year on trampolines. The most common injury occurs when more than one child is jumping on a trampoline at the same time, but not in unison. Keep the following safety tips in mind:
• Only one person should use the trampoline at a time.
• Have an adult present to catch a falling child.
• Trampolines and mats should be in good condition with supporting bars and adequate protective padding.
• The jumping surface should be placed at ground level.
