Though the most common yeast infection is experienced by women, it is also important to be aware of the symptoms of the male yeast infection as well – not only so that they can be treated, but also to prevent passing it from one person to another sexually. The signs of a male yeast infection include itching or burning of the penis head and possibly the presence of a red rash there as well.

The key thing that a woman notices at the onset of a yeast infection is an intense itching which can become very severe if untreated. There is also redness in the external area of the vagina, burning during urination, and what can be very extreme burning and other pain during intercourse. Another common complaint, though not present with all yeast infections, is an odorless, white, “cheesy” discharge.
