Motocross goggles are a necessity when riding trails. Motocross trails are generally a mixture of dirt, sand and mud. When the trail or course is very dry, the air around the track becomes very dusty. The more riders on the trail, the dustier it will become. The tires of other riders or your own motocross tires will also throw debris into the air from the trail. This debris could consist of mud, dirt, sand or even small rocks any of which could cause discomfort, temporary loss of vision or even injury if they were to come into contact with your eyes. For these reasons and others, motocross riders wear goggles when heading out for a ride.
