Minicomputers are basically designed by three companies: Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard, and IBM. And they mainly use UNIX because its stability and processing power. Here is a list of some minicomputers that HP sells:
 
·        HP Integrity rx7620-16 Server: By having this minicomputer (midrange server) you gain numerous advantages and benefits. First of all, you get high performance considering the machine comes with either 16 Intel Itanium 2 processors using HP mx2 dual-processor modules, or eight Intel Itanium 2 processors. The process itself is 1.6 GHz with 6MB L3 cache. It also comes with 32GB of memory and four 584 GB hard drives.
·        HP Integrity rx8620-32 Server: This server provides higher performance than other models because of their use for Itanium 2 processors. This one has two 32 Intel Itanium 2 processors. And uses the HP mx2 dual processor module to store them. Or you can get two 16 Intel Itanium 2 processors with 1.6GHz speed. You also get 256GB of memory and four 584GB hard drives. It can run on UNIX, MS Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition, Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9.
