The landscape of Brazil is made up of rainforests, hills, and mountains. The rainforests are located primarily in northern Brazil, while the hills and mountains, as well as most of the population, are located in southern Brazil. There are also several mountain ranges that are located along the coast of the Atlantic. The highest of these mountains is Pico de Neblina, which is 9,823 feet high. Brazil is also home to the largest river in the world, the Amazon. The second longest river, the Parana, and its major tributary, the Iguacu, are also located in Brazil. Other major rivers include: the Rio Negro, the Sao Francisco, the Xingu, the Madeira, and the Tapajos rivers.
The climate in Brazil is tropical and doesn’t change much from season to season. In the Amazon Basin, there is generally a lot of precipitation, but Brazil also has dry and arid regions. There are several islands that are also considered to be part of Brazil: Saint Peter and Paul Rocks, Rocas Atoll, Fernando de Noronha, and Trindade and Martim Vaz.
