Shopping in Bali is an experience unlike any other since some of the crafts and textiles are unique to the island. You can shop for furniture, paintings, jewelry, carvings, fabrics, and more; and in most of the places, you can (and need to) bargain for the best possible price. Another thing that you can shop for in Bali is the tableware that is designed there, elegant and unique pottery. Other very popular wares for sale are illegal DVDs, clothing, and expensive imported items.

As a tourist, however, there are a few things that you should beware of when shopping in Bali. The first is anything being sold near popular tourists locations. Many of the vendors there sell fake items for high prices. Second, watch out for duty free shoppers outlets; though the name is appealing, local products are sold for outrageous prices. Finally, be careful to check and see when your purchases will be delivered to you; some shops won’t allow you to get them until you’re at the airport, leaving Bali.

While dining in Bali has not ranked among the most exciting nights out in other major cities of the world, it certainly is unique, thrilling, and worth the experience when visiting the island for a few days. First of all, you have a wide selection of restaurants, from expensive and decorative locales with exquisite service to a basic and inexpensive but tasty meal. You may also opt for an international favorite like Hong Kong Dim Sum or something strictly Balinese (like Babi Guling); no matter what style of cuisine it is, you can probably get it in Bali (though often a few ingredients and recipes will vary because of location).

Most Balinese restaurants are open until 10:00 or 11:00 in the evening, and some stay open all night. If you are dining in any restaurant outside the major hotels, you should anticipate paying between 20,000 to 200,000 Rupiah for a main course; any beer, wine, or sides will be added on in addition to an expensive tax and service charge. For a much cheaper bill, you can dine at food stalls, though some tourists dislike the ambiance. At one of these stalls or simple restaurants, you can dine with several dishes for two or three American dollars. There are even opportunities to enjoy the unforgettable Balinese dance performances at a dinner buffet for around $40 a person.

If you enjoy Balinese food, you can take classes (they’re usually one-day events) to teach you how to prepare the cuisine. You can also learn many Balinese specialty recipes and traditional preparation methods online at websites focusing on Bali.

Considered by countless to be the most enchanting travel destination of all the tropical islands and perhaps the world, Bali is a breathtakingly beautiful island with a “perfect” climate around the calendar and with more attractions than one could hope to fit into a short holiday.

In addition to these possible activities and the tourist-friendly nature of the island, the people are warm and inviting: most of the locals truly enjoy the opportunity to meet people from different cultures and to share their heritage with the visitors. There is also a glaring lack of serious crime in Bali, making it less threatening than some of the Caribbean islands and safe for all types of groups.

If you’re going to be staying in Bali for a week or more, there are many things that you can do to truly enjoy the time and soak in the Balinese culture.
The exotic island Bali has many types of lodging available, and most are quite comfortable. However, if you’re looking for something truly luxurious complete with private driver, a house staff, and nearly every indulgence, a private vacation villa may be exactly what you need.

This is unlike even the “luxury resorts” that spot the island coast; the experience is personalized with flawless service as you relax in your spacious and complete living area, the private pool, or the tropical gardens. In addition, you’ll be able to sample authentic Balinese cuisine (or any international favorite that you request) from your own cook. If in addition to these comforts, you are in the mood for a private dance performance by Balinese dancers, a massage, or even cooking lessons, your staff will arrange it for you.

Bali’s resorts, hotels, and other accommodations are of course enjoyable. However, if you’re looking for an experience of a lifetime in which you can be pampered and taken care of, renting a private villa is just what you need. Plus, once you calculate all of the amenities you will be receiving (like the car, the meals, etc.), the market prices you’ll be able to obtain your goods at, and the fact that all taxes and tip are included in the package price, you will probably discover that renting your own lovely Balinese villa is more affordable and cost-effective than you imagined.

Whether you’re looking for an exciting area near family-friendly attractions or a romantic hideaway, there will be a villa that suits your desires. Even better, if you are on a flexible schedule, you will find that some villas, though booked in advance, will open up due to cancellation, and you may be able to take advantage of a last minute saving of around 20%. However you look at it, you will probably find that renting a private vacation villa in Bali is one of the best ways to spend a week on the island.

Spending a week in Bali is an opportunity that few would refuse if offered the chance; it is the vacation of a lifetime. However, what many people don’t realize is that their week in Bali could be spent in more areas than just the island itself. One of the most exciting adventures to take part in when spending a week in Bali is to take a cruise from the island.

Those on Bali cruises have the opportunity to visit obscure locations and discover ancient cultures in Indonesia, to view a part of Asia that few have the chance to see. Plus, you can choose a schedule that works with your vacation itinerary. Whether it’s a three day cruise that you’re looking for or a relaxed week on a charter schooner, you’ll be able to explore the area in a way you probably never dreamed (and without the fear of the difficulties of remote areas). Each of the cruises is fully equipped with all the modern amenities you desire, and you’ll probably be able to find something that fits your estimated budget desires. Spending a week in Bali? See more than just Bali! Take a Bali cruise.

Balinese weddings are a significant part of Balinese culture, especially the Hindu culture. Because of this importance, each portion of the ceremony is full of symbolism and tradition. The wedding begins with a Memadik process, where the families of the bride and groom ask the bride if she truly desires marriage with this man. If she responds positively, she goes with her husband-to-be to his family’s house. Later that day or soon thereafter, an official ceremony will be held for family and friends to witness.

Weddings in Bali are so full of excitement and tradition that they have become a favorite event even for tourists. While many weddings are still private, some families allow visitors to come; and many visitors to Bali are now paying to have their own Balinese wedding. It is certainly an aspect of Balinese culture that individuals should feel privileged to experience.

If you are contemplating an exotic location for your wedding or honeymoon, Bali is an excellent option. This rich heritage of marriages as well as the assistance that the Balinese will provide with the formalities can be incorporated into your own ceremony, giving you a wedding unlike many other people. It is also a perfect place for a honeymoon – romantic, relaxing, and unique. Without having to worry about cooking, cleaning, or even arranging your own transport, you’ll be able to spend time with your new spouse and experience true luxury together.
