Possibly the best tip for talking on a cell phone while driving a vehicle is to simply not do it. It's the best way to ensure your safety. In fact several states have passed laws banning the use of cell phones while driving and several others are in the process of doing so. There are a few tips you should keep in mind if you have to use your cell phone while you are driving such as:

• Always use your speaker phone option or your hands free option while in the car. Put the hands free ear piece in before you even start the car.
• Have your phone in an area when it can be easily reached instead of in a purse, backpack, or briefcase.
• Use speed dial options or voice activated dialing features at possible times.
• Check the road ahead of you before you answer the phone.
• Do not participate in heated discussions such as arguments or stressful conversations at anytime while you are behind the wheel of a car.
• If a conversation is not pressing ask the caller if you can return the call at a later time when you are not driving.
• Keep your vehicle in the right hand lane of the highway or interstate where the traffic moves at a slower pace.
• Always keep your eyes on the road.
