One of the most popular sports in Austria, skiing is loved by locals and visitors alike. Because of Austria’s location in the Alps, many skiing resorts line the hills of the country and attract tourists from across the world. The skiing areas are also well organized, with a developed system of transportation and a variety of lifts and tracks. In fact, you could spend your entire week vacation at one skiing resort and never see all of the lifts and tracks in the area.

Snowboarding is also a welcomed activity on the slopes. Many areas in Austria host boarding competitions, and Innsbruck is actually considered the “snowboarding capital” of Europe. In addition to the great winter-sporting activity that you can enjoy while on your skiing holiday in Austria, most resorts offer exciting nightlife and other positive experiences.

Here is what a typical Cross-Country Ski Trip in Austria looks like:

• This tour is eight days long and surrounds the Austrian village of Weidach, which is known for some of the best cross-country skiing anywhere.
• Skiers can roam in a group or by themselves, and they can choose their own paces.
• There are many restaurants along the way at which skiers can stop for coffee or strudel.
• The first two mornings of the week will include short lessons and a guided ski.
