Patagonia is a region located in the southern hemisphere, in South America. This particular area includes the southern portion of the Republic of Argentina, the southern part of Chile, and several other countries. Patagonia is a region with incredible beauty and brilliance. Whether you are amazed by its magnificent glaciers, snow capped mountains, pristine lakes, beautiful beaches, or massive forests; Patagonia is a splendid area that many enjoy. It has it all from mountains to beaches and forests to glaciers. The region known as Patagonia covers a land area of 787,000 km squared. Its surface area is actually about one third of the total surface of Argentina, which happens to be the eighth largest country in the world. It is easy to imagine, simply by the great land area, that Patagonia is an incredibly large region. It includes five provinces known as Neuquen, Rio Negro, Chubut, Santa Cruz, Chubut, and Tierra del Fuego. While Patagonia is considered one of the least populated areas in the world, it is home to an estimated 1.74 million people.
