Day five will begin with a morning flight to Calafate, gateway to Glaciers National Park. This energetic, international village, located in the southwest of Santa Cruz province, is bursting with mountaineers, trekkers, and gallant travelers. Here, visitors can drive to Alta Vista, a quaint estancia found close to the famous Perito Moreno Glacier. Spend the day hiking through this region where you will enjoy picturesque vistas of the glacier face. If you are lucky, you may be able to see enormous chunks of ice crash into the lake below. If you have time, explore Fitz Roy Peak.
In the afternoon, drive to Puerto Bandera and enjoy a beautiful hike through the Patagonian beech forest, stopping at Onelli Bay. In the evening, you can travel to the working sheep ranch of Estancia Alice. Here visitors can enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night.
