Like Kiki, a Newfoundland/collie mix, is being treated for a series of maladies including arthritis and Cushing's disease by licensed acupuncturist and former dog breeder Jeanie Marie Kraft. She opened Four Paws Acupuncture in Salem in 2005 and has been practicing acupuncture for 10 years.

"During the treatment it's as if she's in a state of bliss," said Kristine Doll of Salem, 14-year-old Kiki's owner. "Her heavy panting stops, she closes her eyes and sighs."

I'm a little confused as to how you can get ol' Bowser to sit still while you shove needles into his skin, and why he doesn't bite your face when you do.
