It's hard to take a plain ol' vacation these days, let alone an adventure tour, without breaking the damn bank, but you'll find that people will do anything in an effort to save money.

This nice lady has some advice on destination weddings: Getting married away from home is not new, but it's becoming increasingly popular. According to a recent study of 1,619 brides conducted by the Condé Nast Bridal Group, 16 percent of couples now have a destination wedding, a 400 percent increase in the past 10 years. The trend has been fueled by the desire to save money: Because guests traditionally pay their own way to the wedding venue, fewer guests make the trip, resulting in lower reception costs.

The article goes on to list alternatives and advice for those who forge ahead with these destination hitches. Personally, I think I'd save money by sticking to the "destination hookup" mode of romance, but then I'm bitter.
