The American Society of Travel agents recently met with Kenya's Minister for Tourism and pledged to work with the Kenyan government to promote tourism in the country and Africa as a whole. The move is suspected to have taken place since Africa's resurgence in popularity with the adventure travel crowd.

Kenya, especially, has had a good reputation for safaris and adventure hikes around its lush plains. The United States was Kenya's 3rd largest inbound tourist market behind the UK and Germany. ASTA hopes to promote tourism through a number of venues, predominantly eco-adventure travel.
