Ask yourself questions like these following examples to make sure you that you’re getting your money’s worth when it comes to the services your accountant provides.

• Can you easily get a hold of your accountant when you need to speak with him or her?
• What kind of advice has your accountant given you on the organization of your tax records?
• Does your accountant stay up-to-date on tax law changes?
• How much energy is your accountant putting into lowering your tax bill and saving you money?
• Are the accounting fees that you are paying comparable to other similar services in your area?
• Is your account familiar enough with your business type, size, and market?
• Do you feel comfortable with the advice and strategies of your accountant? Is your accountant trustworthy?
